Summit Metro Parks Takes Visitors on a Dragonfly Hike

Sun 7/23 @ 10-11:30AM

One of the beauties of summertime is the graceful dragonfly, swooping across sunny fields of flowers such as yarrow, borage and black-eyed Susans. What are their habits, where do they live, and what attracts them to certain areas? And what is their role in the ecosystem?

A Summit Metro Parks naturalist will answer these questions on a short (1.6 mile) hike called “Discovering Dragonflies” at the Springfield Bog Metro Park, 1400 Portage Line Road in Springfield Township. Bring your water and sunblock and learn about how to attract them and the benefits they provide. The program is free and open to all. For more information, call 330-865-8065.
