It’s become increasingly easy for bands to record themselves at home, saving money and creating a less stressful atmosphere. But it’s not as easy as just setting up mics and letting it rip.
The next Cleveland Rocks: Past Present Future Professional Development Workshop for musicians will look at what you need to know if you want to get a decent recording at home. A panel of experienced artists and producers will share their knowledge on equipment and techniques and answer questions. It features artists who record hip-hop, rock, jazz, gospel and folk, among other genres, including Eric Wilson, Ray Flanagan, David Kennedy and Aaron Smith
Each panel is followed by a 2 x 4 songwriter showcase with four artists performing a pair of songs. This month’s songwriters are Doug Nichols, Mal SanMarco, Afi Scruggs
and Wesley Washington.
The workshop and showcase take place at the Cleveland Rocks Shop on Waterloo, a few doors down from the Beachland. It’s free but they’d like you to RSVP because the venue is small. Go here. Thank you!
