Hale Farm Hosts Evening to Learn About Cheese & Drink Wine

Thu 7/13 @ 5:30-8:30PM

A couple of Cleveland Heights entrepreneurs move their specialties to Hale Farm & Village in Bath this week for an event called Hale After Dark: Building the Cheesedom.

Dr. Candace Marchant of Marchant Manor Cheese Shop and CLE Urban Winery’s Destiny Burns have put together an evening that will educate guests about how to select and cut a cheese and put together a cheese board. Each will get to create their own cheeseboard, with cheese, meat, fruits and sweets.

Doors open at 6pm with a bar featuring selections from Great Lakes Brewing Co., CLE Urban Winery, and Bent Ladder ciders. The cheese class starts at 6pm with wine tastings paired with snacks, followed by a cutting techniques workshop. From 7-8pm guests will put into practice what they’ve learn to create their own tray. Afterwards, the can mingle and learn about 19th-century butter- and cheese-making, in keeping with Hale Farm’s recreation of 19th-centry Ohio life.
