Enjoy Art, Food, Music & Nature at Cain Park Art Festival

Fri 7/7 @ 3-8PM

Sat 7/8 @ 10AM-8PM

Sun 7/9 @ 11AM-5PM

It’s always a pleasure to walk down the tree-lined paths of Cleveland Heights’ Cain Park to check out the various offerings from both local and national artists at the annual Cain Park Arts Festival, now in its 46th year. Sure, there are usually too many corny photos of rowboats tied to docks at dusk and more jewelry than anyone could ever possibly wear, but there are always wonderful discoveries too: perhaps a fiber artist who makes distinctive garments or a printer who creates unique and affordable poster art. And let’s face it: as much jewelry as there is at art fairs, some of it is pretty great.

The festival runs its usual three days, and this year, admission is free all three. There is an opening gala/fundraiser on Friday July 7 @ 4-7pm, with a wine & cheese tasting if you want to help defray the costs of the event. Get tickets here.

Otherwise just bring yourself and your family down to hang out, look at art, eat some food and enjoy the live entertainment in both the Alma Theater and Evans Amphitheater including several of the area’s best singer/songwriter/guitarists — Charlie Mosbrook and Taylor Lamborn (Friday) and Diana Chittester (Saturday) — and jazz bassist Darren Frate (Saturday). Djapo Cultural Arts African Drum and Dance Ensemble performs on Sunday. And on Saturday, Big Bang Boom will play three sets of kids’ music.
