Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Asian Lantern Festival Returns for the Sixth Year

In the five years it’s been presenting the event, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Asian Lantern Festival has proved to be highly popular, bringing visitors into the zoo after dark to stroll through lavish lighting displays, as well as enjoy performances and Asian cuisine. So of course it’s back for the sixth year, presented by Meijer returns for a sixth year, starting on Friday July 7 and running through Sunday August 27.

The exhibit will be constructed from more than 1,000 lanterns, offering spectacular displays throughout the grounds, including a 40-foot lantern, walk-through tunnels and the 150-foot Enchanted Garden Experience filled with butterflies, flowers and insects. These are described by the zoo as “Instagrammable,” but maybe you can put the phone away and just absorb their beauty. The festival will also offer hourly acrobatic performances and an Asian Food Market.

The walk-through experience takes place Thursday-Sunday @ 6:30-10:30pm. In addition, there’s a drive-through version on certain nights.
