There’s a new event taking place in Akron this weekend: the first-ever Books, Bites & Beats festival taking place at the North Hill Branch Library People’s Park, 760 Elma Street, hosted by the Akron-Summit County Public Library in collaboration with the North Hill CDC.
As the name suggests, it brings together food trucks, DJs and book purveyors, including a bunch of northeast Ohio booksellers: Conjure Comics, Elizabeth’s Bookshop and Writing Center, Hudson’s Learned Own Book Shop, Little Sparrow Bookshop, Mythical Bookworm, the University of Akron Press, Mac’s Backs—Books on Coventry and Visible Voice Books.
There’ll also be a kids’ book giveaway while supplies last, crafts and games, and a visit from the Akron library mascot Paws who is said to be a lion cub, but resembles a cross between a dog and a bear.
The event is free and open to all. More info here.
