Wed 6/14 @ 5:30-8:30PM
Yet another big outdoor free concert series kicks off this week — one of the area’s biggest — when Wade Oval Wednesdays begin their season.
Each Wednesday from now through August 16 (with the exception of July 5), you can bring your blanket or chair and your picnic down to the vast green space in University Circle, located between the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Botanical Garden to enjoy some fresh air and some music.
But that’s not all. The events also offer numerous food vendors, as well as information tables from local organizations and kids’ crafts activities and games.
The latter will be essential when the veteran Cleveland laidback ensemble Hubb’s Groove kicks things off On Wednesday June 14. Their variety of “smooth jazz,” which blends pop, soul and jazz, appeals heavily to older adults. It won’t be a rowdy crowd!
Future Wednesdays offer all kinds of music from reggae (the always-packed Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band event on June 28), salsa, country rock, “dueling pianos,” jazz and rock & roll.
