Re-Sound Festival Offers Four Days of Experimental Music & Sound Installations

Thu 6/8-Sun 6/11

The Re:Sound music festival is aimed at listeners who like their music a little challenging and thought-provoking. It features four days of experimental, avant-garde performances and art installations by both local and out-of-town artists at several different venues.

It starts on Thursday June 8 @ 7pm at the BOP STOP where Leo Chang + Alex Zhang Huntai, two improvisational multi-instrumentalists, will perform, along with Persephone and the Phoenix, a two-woman project from New York utilizing keyboards and strings for what they call “collaborative energy exchanges.”

Concerts take place Friday evening June 9, Saturday June 10, afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon June 11 at Convivium 33 Gallery, with similarly open-ended, exploratory musicians and ensembles. A later-evening concert takes place Saturday at nearby Crobar.

In addition, Re:Sound will be hosting sound installations at Doubting Thomas Gallery in Tremont and the Pivot Center for Art, Dance, and Expression in Ohio City. For viewing hours, go to uncommonsoundcle.com.

Single tickets and full festival passes are available on a sliding scale. “Pay what you can, no one will be turned away for a lack of funds,” they say. But if you can pay, please do so and support their work! Go here for detailed artist info and tickets.
