North Coast Men’s Chorus Performs Disney PRIDE in Concert

Sat 6/17 @ 8PM

Sun 6/18 @ 3PM

In a concert program that would be sure to raise Governor Ron DeSantis’s blood pressure, only it’s not in Florida, the North Coast Men’s Chorus is closing its 2022-23 season with Disney PRIDE in Concert at Playhouse Square’s Hanna Theatre. Not only is he feuding with Disney because of the company’s condemnation of his “Don’t say gay” legislation, but the NCMC consists largely (entirely?) of gay men. Gay gay gay, DeSantis!!! Sooooooo gay!

Now that DeSantis has collapsed with outrage, we’ll say that YOU will have a rollicking good time at this show! The multimedia concert will use clips from Disney and Pixar films to accompany its renditions of songs from such Disney films as Mary Poppins, Coco, Zootopia, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. As is typical for a NCMC, there’ll be costumes, dance numbers, comedy, solo turns, and personal stories from chorus members talking about their own connections to Disney productions. Raise your hands now — who really really REALLY wanted to be a Mouseketeer?

The show is completely family-friendly — fun for all. No one gets naked and they’ll probably be talking a lot about love, acceptance and being welcoming. And you can say “gay” as loud as you want!

Disney Pride in Concert has been performed in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Denver, Portland, Seattle and even — Fort Lauderdale. Can’t stop the music!

Please note: the concerts were original scheduled for the Breen Center in Ohio City, but they will be happening at Playhouse Square. Get tickets at playhousesquare.org. Learn more about the North Coast Men’s Chorus here.
