The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes is hosting a series of Summer Wednesdays with offering a chance to enjoy its trails and natural areas, grab some refreshments from its new ONO Brew Café and take part in special activities including games, music and art. You can bring your own picnic to enjoy in the Friends Pavilion as well. All trails are open until dusk.
This week Larchmere Fire Works, which offers both glassblowing and blacksmithing, brings its mobile blacksmithing unit to the Nature Center for a free beginner class that will teach both adults and children over the age of 4 the basics of the craft. They’ll provide the safety classes. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
