The Cedar Fairmount Special Improvement District in Cleveland Heights has just announced a series of free events for its 2023 SummerFEST.
All concerts this year will take place in the “pocket park” located between The Ascent at Top of the Hill, the hulking new apartment building at the top of Cedar Hill, and Nighttown, on Thursdays from 6-8pm. Horn-heavy jump/blues/swing/early rock ensemble Blue Lunch will perform June 22, July 20 and August 17. Alt country/Americana ensemble Rachel Brown & the Beatnik Playboys play June 29. On July 27 guitarist/vocalist Moises Borges will bring along some friends to join him in playing traditional and pop Brazilian sounds. And on August 10, the Tamil Jordan Jazz Band will play.
During the concerts Cleveland Heights Church across the street will have a Kids’ Fun Zone, with activities for toddlers on up. And Moises Borges will also play at Luna Bakery & Café patio just up the street on Saturday, June 17 and July 15 at the patio at Luna Bakery & Café @ 10am-noon.
Also returning to the neighborhood are the free walking tours led by Ken Goldberg, president of the Cleveland Heights Historical Society on Wednesday evenings. Meet him in front of the Firestone tore at Grandview & Cedar @ 7pm. Tours are an hour and fifteen minutes.
