Cleveland jazz vocalist Carol Leslie is a regular at area venues, including Blu Jazz+, performing torch songs from the Great American Songbook, along with a mix of contemporary pop and R&B tunes. She cites influences ranging from Ella Fitzgerald, Cleo Laine and Sarah Vaughan, to Barbra Striesand, Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra, and even Lady Gaga.
She’s got a CD called Live at the BOP STOP if you’d like to preview what you might hear: tunes ranging from Billie Holiday’s “Fine and Mellow,” to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” to “The Boy from Ipanema,” to the Beatles” “We Can Work It Out.”
Leslie will be bringing her music to BLU Jazz+ in Akron, where she’ll perform with the Carol Leslie Quartet. Tickets are $20. Get them here.
