Five years ago, the Akron Recording Company set up shop in downtown Akron’s Northside district at 243 Furnace Street.
Since then, it’s served numerous area musicians, combining, they say, “the beauty of analog recording with the industry standard digital recording mediums to create a timeless sound.” Going forward, they’ve got plans to help connect musicians and grow the local music scene through live shows and social events.
They’re starting with a five-year anniversary party, taking place at the studio. There’ll be food and drink from Bereka Coffee, Ethiopian Kitchen, Best Damn Smoked Meats, and Baxter’s Speakeasy, and live music by Floco Torres, Cadillac Lover Boy (pictured), Honeyland and Red Rose Panic, with DJs The Night People and Palaces hosting. There’ll also be raffles for prizes such as Audio Technica M50x headphones, EarthQuaker Devices’ Aurelius Tri-Voice Chorus sound processor, work by local artists, tickets from local venues, a gift card for recording time and more.
There’s $10 suggested donation, which goes to the bands.
