The activity at Studio West 117, which just opened last fall, has been in overdrive. You can drop in for pizza or a nice meal, relax outdoor on its rooftop bar, play pickleball, basketball or bocce, go to a fitness class, see art shows or catch a performance of some type almost any day of the week. And while the sprawling (and growing!) facility is designed as a welcoming headquarters for LGBTQ+ people you don’t have to be in that community to hang out there. (Not being a bigoted Republican state legislator helps though.)
Now it’s hosting a gala event it’s billing as “a fashion show chic enough to rival the Met Gala” (only far more inclusive; it’s not going to set you back $50,000 per ticket to attend). The first annual Daisy Ball presented by Maggie’s Hope, which takes place in its Fieldhouse, will feature the work of 25 local designers, plus entertainment, vendors, food and a Red Carpet for attendees who came to slay to document their own fabulousness.
