Soap Bubble-Blowing Stars Attempt to Set More Guinness World Records

Sat 5/6 @ noon-1PM

Sun 5/7 @ noon-1PM

Dr. U.R Awesome’s bubble-blowing techniques are familiar from his appearances at events around town such as Walkabout Tremont, where kids pursue his clouds of bubbles in an attempt to catch one.

Awesome (real name: Gary Pearman) is also known for his multiple Guinness World Record-setting with 11 records under his belt. And now he’s going got five (FIVE!) more. He won’t be going this challenging task alone though: he’s bringing in a rising star in the bubbling community named Blaise Ryndes to partner with him.

The records the duo will be trying to set include tallest freestanding soap bubble, tallest supported soap bubble tube, tallest free-floating soap bubble, largest soap bubble tornado and largest soap bubble volcano.

Physicist Thomas Altman, a bubbling expert, will be the certified Guinness calculator at the event, which takes place at Tower City Center on Sunday May 7, with three different levels from which to watch. You can also catch a little “practice” preview on Saturday May 6 @ noon-1pm across from Tower City in Public Square’s Gund Foundatin Green. Both events are free and open to the public.
