Sat 5/20 @ noon-10PM
SNPJ Farm, the Slovenian indoor/outdoor facility in Kirtland, is gearing up for a season of eating, drinking and dancing to polka music. And it all starts this weekend with its 3rd Annual Music Festival and Craft Show.
It’s a biggie, alright. There’ll be 16 polka bands, playing nonstop on the indoor and outdoor stages, more than 40 craft vendors, a wine bar and Bill Azman’s legendary Slovenian sausage as well as a food truck and other food vendors. Outside there’s cornhole, horseshoes, balina (bocce) courts and a kids’ playground. So this event is something every generation can enjoy.
Gates open at 11am; craft vendors will be open for business from 11am-5pm. Music starts at and runs until 10pm, kicking of outside with the Joey Tomsick Band, and continuing throughout the day with bands such as the Fred Ziwick Band, Patty C & the Guys (pictured), the Jeff Pecon Band with polka veteran Joey Miskulin who got his start playing with Frankie Yankovic as a teenager, Eddie Rodick Jr., the Don Wojtila Band, the Bob Kravos Band, the Valencics and friend … basically every big name in the northeast Ohio polka community will be there.
Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the gate. For tickets call Don Srnick at 440-283-9373 or email srnick@msn.com, or call the Polka Hall of Fame at 216-261-3263.
