Thu 5/18-Sat 5/20 @ 10AM-4PM
If you haven’t been to Rockefeller Greenhouse on the north end of MLK Boulevard right before you get to the Shoreway, you need to go. Admission is free and the irises in the Willott Iris Garden — hundreds of varieties in a spectacular array of colors — are in full bloom now.
And this is also a great time to go because it’s having its annual three-day plant sale and art show. Various garden organizations sell a variety of native plants, annuals, perennials, houseplants, hanging baskets, herbs and vegetables, and best of all, you can take home a pot of rhizomes to plant at home.
There’ll also be food vendors there each day from 11am-1pm and artists inside the building with wildlife photographs, jewelry, woo art, stuffed toys and pottery, much of it recycled, and of course, Linda Zolten Wood will have her colorfully painted rain barrels.
Admission is free.
