Quartets & Choruses Perform in Great Lakes Harmony Regional Competition

Thu 5/11-Sun 5/14

Great Lakes Harmony’s Region 17 (comprising parts of Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania) convention and competition takes place this week here in Cleveland at the downtown Hilton.

Some of its 700 members in 22 choruses and more than 30 registered quartets will be in town this weekend to learn, compete and socialize. And for listeners it’s a chance to hear vocalists perform in exquisite four-part barbershop-style harmony

On Friday starting at 4pm there’ll be 15 competing quartets representing more than 25 choruses and a “mic test” performance by the Lucille Quartet, a past regional champion who placed in the top 10 at international last year. On Saturday, chorus competition starts at 11:45am, with 13 choruses from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana, and a performance by the 2022 regional champions the Buffalo Gateway Chorus. Tickets are $40 at the door, $10 for students.
