As summer comes and our plants are starting to fruit and flower, there’s a lot of attention being paid to essential pollinators. And Cuyahoga Valley National Park is helping shine more light on them with a new photography exhibit called Bees, Bugs, and Butterflies: Pollinating Along the Cuyahoga, taking place in its gallery at 1565 Boston Mills Road in Peninsula.

It features the work of six local photographers with a passion for capturing nature in various forms. They include Jerry Cannon, who works primary in the Summit Metro Parks; Jim Roetzel, who has photographed all across the U.S. and Canada and has a special passion for birds; conservation educator Danae Wolfe, who specializes in macro photography; wetlands expert Anthony Rogers, whose favorite subjects include insects, birds, wildflowers, reptiles, amphibians and fungi; Denny Reiser, a long-time volunteer photographer for CVNP; and Jeffrey Gibson, whose images of the Cuyahoga River watershed, parks and green spaces have been used by the Akron Symphony, Cleveland Hopkins Airport and National Geographic.

The show opens with a free public reception Friday June 2 @ 4-7pm and remains on view through Sunday September 3, Friday through Sunday @ 11am-3pm.
