Blue Arrow Records Hosts Punk Rock Author Panel

Sun 5/21 @ 4-5:30PM

A book talk in a record store? It’s actually an appropriate location for this one, which features the authors of two books about punk rock and the founding editor of a literary magazine.

Jen Larson wrote Hit GirlsWomen of Punk in the USA 1975-1983, published this past January, while Jim Ruland penned the 2022 book, Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise and Fall of SST Records, telling the story of the California label founded by Greg Ginn that put his hardcore punk band Black Flag and its best-known vocalist Henry Rollins on the map, along with bands such as Minutemen, Husker Du, Dinosaur and Meat Puppets. Aaron Burch is the founding editor of HOBART.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Cleveland-based music writer Annie Zaleski whose latest book is Lady Gaga: Applause. The event takes place at Blue Arrow Records in the Waterloo Arts District. Don’t come if you’re allergic to cats: several of them live in the store! Otherwise, it’s free and open to all.
