Lakewood Alive Announces Diverse Summer Concert Series

Lakewood Alive has just announced the return of its annual Front Porch concert series, taking place on the front steps of the downtown branch of the Lakewood Public Library. And it’s also announced a pair of new concerts at the Madison Park Pavilion.

The concerts at the library, taking place Fridays from June 2 through July 14 @ 7pm, kick off with the Day Nites, a soul group fronted by Arthur Blakely from legendary Cleveland R&B group the Hesitations, who had a couple of hits in the late 60s. Youngstown-based outlaw country band Larry Elefante follows on June 9, with indie rockers Church of Starry Wisdom on June 16, young jazz/R&B/pop vocalist Raven Rae on June 23, and percussion-driven Latin-style band Hello! 3D closing the month on June 30. July’s concerts include the eight-piece rock & soul band Shoreline Funk All-Stars on July 7 and rootsy pop-rockers Lea Marra & the Dreamcatchers on July 14.

Over at the pavilion, jam-style horn-driven ensemble Rubix Groove will play on July 21, followed by Beatles cover band The George Martins on July 28.
