Dyngus Day Cleveland, that crazy street party that celebrates letting loose the day after Easter, returned to Gordon Square this year for the second time since it went virtual for two pandemic years — hardly ideal for a festival that revolves around piwo, paczki and polka dancing in the street.
Most of the action will be centered in the Gordon Square area where festival founder DJ Kishka (in real life, Justin Gorski) will opening the pageant at 10am and host live entertainment from bands such as the Charon Polka Ban and Fred Ziwich, and one of the event’s highlights, the Miss Dyngus Day pageant at 4:30, followed by a pierogi eating contest. A bunch of other places, mostly in Detroit-Shoreway and Ohio City, have entertainment and specials as well. Go here for a list.
