It’s time to get out the dancing shoes again and brush up your polka steps. The National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame is hosting its 39th annual Super Button Box Bash!
They’re promising 60 accordions on two stages and jam sessions all day, so if you play, bring yours along. If not there’ll be plenty of dance floor on which to kick up your heels. The main stage will feature a roster of noted local players such as Patty C and the Guys, the Fairport Jammers, Kathy Hlad, Ron Likovic and Frank and Darryl Valencic, among others.
In addition, there’ll be ethnic foods available, such as smoked Slovenian sausage, roast beef and strudel, pus sandwiches, desserts and beverages And you’ll be able to grab yourself a T-shirt, sweatshirt, babushka or polka CD to support the activities of the Polka Hall of Fame.
The event takes place at the American Croatian Lodge in Eastlake. Advance tickets are $12, ticketsat the door are $15. Bring the kids; 18 and under are free.
