Sun 4/23 @ 10AM-5PM
Earth Day is April 22, but the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is extending the celebration for a day — but let’s be honest: their mission involves celebrating the Earth all year long.
On Sunday April 23, representatives from various local groups that work on conservation, environment and climate issues will be on hand to talk to visitors about the work they’re doing as part of CMNH’s Earth Day Community Day.
They include the Alliance for the Great Lakes (which has its first weekend of beach cleanups this weekend; go here to learn more), Case Western Reserve University’s Women in Science and Engineering Roundtable, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, Drink Local. Drink Tap. Inc., and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District.
In addition, CMNH’s regularly scheduled planetarium shows, 3D movies and wildlife presentations will be going on, and the residents of its Perkins Wildlife Center will show you what’s worth preserving. And Snday is free admission day for residents of Cleveland and East Cleveland; tickets must be reserved in advance and you must present proof of residence at the door.
