Heidie Lee Locke’s friends back home in Cleveland were devastated to learn of her death last November in her adopted home outside London, where she was based as a flight attendant. The 58-year-old Cleveland native was killed in a head-on collision with an apparently drunk driver on her way to work at Heathrow Airport.
A 1982 Euclid High School graduate who also studied at Kent State, she started working for airlines in the mid 80s. But Heidie was also well known locally and in rock & roll circles as a talented music photographer who shot extensively for Alternative Press in the 1990s. Even after moving to England and giving up music photography, she continued to be a passionate photographer, documenting her extensive travels.
Those who knew her in Cleveland are invited to a celebration of her life at the Henn Mansion in Euclid on Saturday April 22 @ 3-5pm.
