Fri 3/10 @ 6PM
Each year, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, sponsored by the South Yuma River Citizens League in California and described as “a festival by activists for activists,” hosts a multi-day event on the West Coast featuring hundreds of short films, along with programming of all types such as talks, parties, art exhibits etc. The festival celebrated its 21st year in February.
But that’s not the end of it. Once the parent festival is done, the films hit the road, fanning out to locations all across the country to gin up a yen to hit the road, visit remote and beautiful spots, and protect nature from climate change and human degradation. “SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival inspires environmental activism and a love for nature–through film,” they say. “Wild & Scenic shares an urgent call to action, encouraging festival-goers to learn more about what they can do to save our threatened planet.”
And once again, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival will touch down at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Murch Auditorium, where visitors can see selections from the 2022 and 2023 festivals. Doors open at 5:30 for the 6:30 program. There’ll be food available for purchase in the Origins Café from5:30-6:15 pm as well as snacks during the screening. Beer and Wine will also be available for purchase beforehand and during intermission.
