Thu 3/30
March 30 is National Take a Walk in the Park Day. And luckily, northeast Ohioans have a ton of options for doing so, with walks ranging from some challenging and rugged terrain at Cuyahoga Valley National Park to comfortable strolls in the Cleveland Metroparks. Plan to stop and look down at for plants just starting to spring to life, and look up at trees beginning to bud.
If you like to hike with a group, Geauga Park District naturalists will be celebrating by leading six hour-long walks at its various parks. Early risers can join them at Beartown Lakes Reservation at 8:30am; those who need more time for coffee and breakfast can come to Frohring Meadows at 10:30am. Later in the day, walks take place at the West Woods at 12:30pm, Swine Creek Reservation at 2:30pm, Claridon Woodlands at 4:30pm, and Eldon Russell Park at 6:30pm.
