Sure, it’s still a little chilly, but that’s no reason not to go for a bike ride — and learn some important Cleveland history as well.
Join the crew at Bike Cleveland for a 20 Miles of Smiles ride that’s tailored especially for Black History Month. The group will met at the Cleveland Public Library’s Langston Hughes Branch (10200 Superior Avenue) and take a tour through Cleveland’s Black east side neighborhoods of Hough, Glenville, Fairfax and Buckeye-Shaker, stopping a various landmarks that make up the Cleveland Civil Rights Trail and learning some of the historical events that happened there.
As the name of the ride suggests, it’s about 20 miles at a speed of about 12-13 mph, taking about 3-4 hours. It’s considered challenging because of different elevations and roadways.
It’s free; registration is recommended. Go here.
