Mon 2/27

Guitarist Gaetano Letizia, once known as Tom Letizia, has been part of the local music scene since the early 70s. He’s played in rock, blues and jazz bands, and released numerous albums in all those styles. He formed the Underworld Blues Band in 2010, which plays frequently around the area and has recorded a pair of CDs. They also represented the Cleveland Blues Society in Memphis as part of the International Blues Challenge.

He’s also got a jazz trio, with drummer Mark Gonder and bassist Kip Reed, with whom he’s just recorded Orange Sunset, showcasing nine of his original tunes, such as “Wandering,” Blues Ionosphere,” “Chartreuse” and “Genrecide,” which show off the band’s diverse styles, moods and strengths, infused with pop, funk and blues as well as jazz.

The new music is available on Monday February 27. For more information, go to gaetanoletizia.
