LatinUs Theater Presents Sitcom/Thriller by Celebrated Spanish Writer

Fri 2/24-Sun 3/12

Barcelona writer Eduardo Mendoza is a big deal in Spain. He’s penned novels short stories, essays and plays, starting in 1975 and in 2016, he won Spain’s Miguel Cervantes Prize for Spanish-language literature.

Among the three plays he’s written is 2000s Gloria: Comedia en un acto, which has been described as a “sitcom with touches of thriller and mystery.” In it, two couples run a publishing house but when one of the couples breaks up, complications ensue as they begin the search for a new business partner and meet some questionable characters.

This play is the next offering from LatinUs, the new Spanish-language theater based at the Pivot Center for Art, Dance and Expression on West 25th Street. It will be presented with projected super titles in English. Performances tae place February 24-26, March 3-5, and March 10-12. Tickets are $25 general admission, students and seniors $15.
