Have you managed to miss all the multiple ice-carving demos that have happened so far and yearn to see a sculptor go at it and make sparks fly? The mother of all ice sculpting events happens this weekend when the Ice Fest at North Coast Harbor comes to Voinovich Bicentennial Park. With events happening around the inner harbor walkway, the East 9thStreet Pier and the Rock Hall Plaza, Ice Fest offers the chance to make the most of the wintry weather.
They’re promising that more than two dozen ice sculptures will be on display, with carving demonstrations happening all day, along with kids’ crafts and storytime, hot cocoa, a scavenger hunt, fire pits with s’more kits, and even a free performance by WODA at 1pm in the Rock Hall lobby.
You can get an early start by signing up for the inaugural Hot Cocoa 5K and I Mile Walk, kicking off at 10am. The day winds down with the building of an ice tower starting at 3:30, the tower lighting at 5:30 and a 30-minute Burn Unit Fire Performance at 5:45pm.
