Heights Arts Launches Its Latest Chamber Music Concert Series This Week

Sun 2/26 @ 3-5PM

Heights Arts’ Close Encounters concerts offer classical music aficionados the chance to hear some of the area’s best musicians perform chamber-style music in intimate settings. While many of them are in people’s homes, the opening is at the Dunham Tavern Museum in Midtown.

It features the Omni Quartet, with four moonlighting Cleveland Orchestra members: violinists Amy Lee and Alicia Koelz, violist Joanna Zakany and cellist Tanya Ell. The program will include Josef Haydn’s 1799 String Quartet in F, Op. 77 No. 2, and Felix Mendelssohn’s 1838 String Quartet No. 3 in D Major, Op. 44 No. 1. Between the two quartets, appropriately, they’ll play 40-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw’s 2011 Entr’Acte.

For tickets to this concert or season tickets to all five concerts (recommended since seating is limited and concerts often sell out) go here.
