Cleveland Museum of Art Atrium Will be a Hive of Activity on Play Day

Sat 2/18 @ noon-4PM

If you’ve been meaning to get down to the Cleveland Museum of Art, especially if you’re been planning to take the kids, a good day is this Saturday’s edition of Play Days, taking place in the museum’s atrium.

The atrium will be filled with hands-on things to do to inspire your own creativity. It will be focused on the ways that artists play around with scale in their works: the tools and material they use, the subjects they address and the pieces they create.

You’ll be able to look at art objects through a microscope to learn about the work of CMA’s conservation lab and get your hands on an actual object from the museum’s education art collection.  There’ll be personal stamp/seal-making, mini book and zine making, a collaborative drawing where you can make your own contribution, and a Fun with Flash Fiction activity with Literary Cleveland.

Also, you can explore the art of Chinese miniatures in the exhibit China through the Magnifying Glass: Masterpieces in Miniature and Detail, as you learn about the history of these pieces and the meaning behind them. It’s all free and no registration is required. Just stop by.
