Artful’s Art for the Masses Offers the Chance to Buy Affordable Work from Local Artists

Artful Cleveland, located at the Coventry PEACE campus building, is an organization that rents affordable studio space to artists. And for the second year in a row, it’s hosting another event to boost artists: its Art for the Masses sale of local fine art.

If you’d like to decorate your home and support local artists but don’t have the budget to buy $3,000 paintings and $1,600 prints (or perhaps even the space to display them), this event offers work by a variety of local artists, with every piece under $200.

It’s a great way to get to know some area artists and become familiar with their work as they offer a deal on older work they’re clearing out, or less expensive versions such as prints and sketches, giving you the chance to get a feel for what they do and maybe decide if you’d like to upsize later on.

There’ll be dozens of artists set up on two levels of the Coventry PEACE Building, both artists who have studios there and others from the community. One of those is Catherine Butler, known for her distinctive jewelry and mini-sculptures. “I will be selling the individual jelly fish from my installation piece Gloria in Eggshells DayGlo [pictured], along with jewelry, ceramics, and framed and unframed works on paper including prints, handmade paper, drawings, collages and paintings,” she says. That’s the sort of thing. you’ll be able to snag from the artists representing at this show.

Last year’s show included a wonderful array of guest artists of which I am one, along with artists who have their studios at Artful. Please tell your friends!

There’s no admission; just come down and browse!
