Sun 1/15 @ 3PM
Reminding us that the MLK Day holiday isn’t just a chance to stay home from school, each year prior to the day, The Music Settlement hosts a concert at the BOP STOP, celebrating Dr. King’s life in music and offering people a chance to reflect on the legacy he left while enjoying some meaningful music.
The program will include both religious and secular pieces, spotlighting works by African-American composers, exploring the ideas about equality, justice and opportunity he preached relentlessly and which we need to hear now more than ever. They’ll be performed by TMS faculty, merit scholarship students and even, they tell us “two of our board members!”
The concert is free, but registrations are required. Go here to do so. The program will also be livestreamed on the BOP STOP’s Facebook page.
