Summit Metro Parks Program Addresses Environmental Justice

Mon 1/16 @ 11AM-12:30PM

Our local park districts provide a lot of opportunities to enjoy nature and the outdoors and to learn more about that plants and living creatures that make up our local ecosystem.

This week, Summit Metro Parks takes on the implications of the environmental justice and equity movement and how it connects to green spaces and policies relating to them in Northeast Ohio and in the larger world. The movement tackles issues such as how poorer neighborhoods have less healthy air, retain heat and have less access to natural areas.

It takes place at the Summit Lake Nature Center. It’s free and open to all. For more information, call 330-865-8065.
