Cleveland Seed Bank’s annual seed swap returned to its usual late January time slot for the first time since 2020, giving local growers the opportunity to snag the seeds they need in plenty of time even for indoor seed starting.
While some gardeners save seeds and brought some to share with others, most others simply came to get some of the free seeds donated each year. They included vegetable, herb and flower seeds of all types as well as planting cuttings, tubers, grains and sourdough starters. While growers browsed, local jazz musicians provided music and Sittoo’s brought middle eastern food. The Cleveland Public Library was on hand to share is resources for growers, and several other groups offered info about education programs, composting and growing native and medicinal plants.
