For two days, the I-X Center was a cat lover’s paradise when the Cleveland Persian Society hosted the Cleveland Cat Show. Hundreds of cats were on view, from puffball Persians to playful Siamese to ordinary, non-pedigreed cats brought by local rescue groups for petting and potential adopting. You could check out the various breeds, ask breeders questions and watch as judges examined the astonishingly agreeable show cats. And while most breeders warn viewers not to touch the cats, one Siamese breeder said she’d brought a certain cat specifically because it liked to be petted.
Watching the crowd was almost as much fun as watching the cats: cat lovers of all ages sported sweatshirts proclaiming their love of cats and cat-ear headbands perched on their heads. There was plenty of cat stuff available for sale too. And apparently Cleveland has lots of cat lovers: the place was almost too packed to move and the line to get in as we left was still hundred deep.

I love this! I’m sorry that I missed noticing the advertising–my late cat was an adopted peach (no, he was a Himalayan, really) and was a great “watch cat” around the house.
