Come Out of the Cold & Meet Artists at 78th Street Studios Third Friday

Fri 1/20 @ 5-9PM

There’s always excitement in the air on 78th Street Studios’ Third Friday, as crowds throng in to visit galleries, drop in on artists in their studios, visit the small businesses, and shop Northcoast Promotions’ markets featuring guest artisans and makers on both the Ramp level and the SmARTspace.

Don’t miss HEDGE Gallery’s opening of work by Cleveland painter/sculptor/mixed media artist Dale Goode, who brings more than seven decades of life experience and almost as many of art-making to his resonant work. Veteran graphic George Kocar’s bright, offbeat, cartoon-like work is on view at Gallery+ and the Kenneth Paul Lesko Gallery has a group show of work by their stable of artists.

Don’t be shy about going through an open studio door to chat with artists such as painter/muralist Eileen Dorsey, painter Justin Brennan, sculptor Charmaine Spencer or encaustic artist Dawn Tekler. Most of the artists in the building are super friendly and love to talk about their work. In fact, photographer/mixed media artist Eric Rippert posts, “Want to learn more about art and the creative process? Asking questions shouldn’t be intimidating. Visit our studio and feel welcome.”

You can also enjoy some food from Local West, and drinks at BARneo, which benefits ARTneo, a museum of northeast Ohio art located on the RAMP level.

It’s free & registration isn’t required anymore. Kids and animals are welcome as well if they know how to behave themselves. Chatting with an artist might unleash your own kid’s creativity!
