Cleveland Museum of Natural History Talk Looks at its Off-Site Conservation Work

Sat 1/14 @ 9:30AM

Each month, on the second Saturday, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Science Series offers an opportunity for visitors to learn a little more about the museum’s work in a casual setting, joining a staff member for coffee and conversation on a particular topic.

This month, the museum’s Manager of Preserve Operations, Garrett Ormiston, will share the work that CMNH does outside its University Circle building as an extension of its mission there. He’ll talk abut the 12,000 acres of Northern Ohio land overseen by CMNH’s Natural Areas Division as part of its conservation mission and what exactly goes into acquiring, protecting and managing that land.

Join Friends of CMNH for coffee starting at 9:30am when local educator Rosemary Nemeth will talk about the archaeology kit she created for the Museum’s Educator Resource Center and her work on the Teacher Enhancement Project. Ormiston’s talk starts at 10am.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required here. You can register to attend in person or on Zoom.
