Cleveland City Council President Blaine Griffin Speaks at the City Club

Wed 1/25 @ 11:30AM-1PM

There’ve been a lot of changes in local government in the last year, with a new Cleveland mayor, a new Cuayhoga County executive, and a new Cleveland City Council president. In all cases, the new person brought fresh ideas and new promise an office that was feeling moribund.

Blaine A. Griffin was elected to be the councilperson from Ward 6 on Cleveland’s east side in 2017, serving University Circle, Little Italy, Fairfax and various adjacent neighborhoods. He had extensive experience in city and county government prior to that and had also served with the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland. He was reelected in 2021 and was then elected Cleveland City Council president, replacing the evasive, unresponsive Kevin Kelley, who often appeared too cozy with big-money special interests.

Griffin will speak at the City Club of Cleveland, addressing issues such as “ What are the accomplishments of the 119th Cleveland City Council?” and “What can we expect as priorities moving into 2023?”

The forum is sold out but it will be livestreamed starting at noon. If you have questions you can tweet @TheCityClub or text 330-541-5794.
