Catastrophe sells. The most popular topics for regional books are unsolved murders, deadly disasters and of course, haunted locations, usually haunted because a murder or deadly disaster befell the ghost.
So there should be a good crowd at the Music Box Supper Club for its Cleveland Stories Dinner Party when author Wendy Koile, whose specialty is books about Northeast Ohio, talks about “Lake Erie: Murder & Mayhem,” the title of her latest book, published in 2021. In it she relates tales of criminals and con men, pirates and murders, and corpses floating alongside lighthouses, as she dips into Ohio history to locate intriguing incidents.
Admission to the event itself is fee; if you’d like to have dinner doors open at 5pm. There’s a fixed-price three course menu for $25 (soup, entrée and dessert) and you can also order off the Music Box’s regular menu. Make reservations here.
