Asia Plaza Celebrates the Lunar New Year with a Day of Performances

Sat 1/21 @ 10AM-3PM

There’s no better place to celebrate the Lunar New Year — the Year of the Water Rabbit, known for peace, longevity and prosperity (let’s hope!) — than in Cleveland’s AsiaTown.

Asia Plaza will have performances going on from 10am-3pm, starting with the Shaolin Kung Fu Institute at 10am, followed by LingYun Rising Star, Stellar Acrobatic Dance Academy, Kwan Lion Dance, Chinese square dancing (?), Sifu John Cosma, The Cleveland Glory Waist Drum Team, the Sho-Jo-Ji Japanese Dancers and Great Wall Kung Fu Center, climaxing with a K-Pop Dance Party w/WJCU-FM “A Sprinkle of Seoul” host Lauren. It’s free and open to all.

Of course, you’ll want to plan to eat in one of Asia Plaza’s restaurants or in one of the dozens of Asian eateries in the surrounding neighborhood, and pick up a rabbit souvenir at one of its gift shops.
