Sat 12/31 @ noon-3PM

Kwanzaa, the African-American celebration, which runs from December 26-January 1. Created in 1966 to uplift African cultural roots by a black power activist who later became a college professor, it honors a different principal on each of its seven days.

Members of the African American Archives Auxiliary of the Western Reserve Historical Society (Quad A) will be hosting their annual Kwanzaa celebration at WRHS’s Cleveland History Center where Quad A trustees Michelle Frazier and Beverly Lloyd will host.

The event will feature jazz by the JT Lynch Saxophone Ensemble, spoken word performers, refreshments from A Taste of Excellence, kids crafts and gift books. Guests are invited to wear African-inspired apparel.

It’s free for WRHS members and included with paid museum admission for others.
