Jazz Bassist/Oberlin Alum Eli Naragon Releases Debut Album @ BOP STOP

Jazz bassist Eli Naragon is a Pittsburgh native who passed through Northeast Ohio on his way to Illinois where he’s now in a masters degree program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. But as an Oberlin Conservatory student (class of 2018), he had plenty of time and opportunity to make connections in the local jazz community.

So he’s coming back to celebrate the release of his debut album, titled Homage, at the BOP STOP. As his bio says, the album “pays tribute to his musical predecessors and is an expression of gratitude.” He’s performed as a sideman with numerous musicians and some of Ohio’s best are returning the favor to help him present hi new material. They include sax player Chris Coles, trumpet players Tommy Lehman, pianist Theron Brown and drummer Zaire Darden.
