November is the month that the monthly Walkabout Tremont event comes entirely indoors for “Light Up Your Holidays.”
There’s plenty going on inside the local galleries, shops, eateries, bars and lounges though to provide an evening’s worth of diversion. You’ll want to catch the closing of 4 Your Love at 818 Studios, a group show featuring the work of 18 area artists including gallery owner Barb Merritt, Douglas Max Utter, David Cintron, John Kalman, Sean Mabin, Dott Von Schneider, Rebecca Yody, John Saile and others.
Doubting Thomas will have its ongoing show The Occult which it opened for Halloween, with 20 artists of typically mixed quality. And Kaiser Gallery will be hosting an opening reception for the Service Industry Stitch Project featuring artist Morgan Bukovec who collected found objects while working in service jobs and assembled them to explore the challenges of that work and “question the patriarchal dominated society we live in.” The great thing is that all three galleries are within a block of each other, so no matter what the weather, you can easily catch all the shows.
And of course, you’ll want to plan to stop in one of Tremont’s many restaurants or bars, which offer food and drink specials for Walkabout. Get more information here.
