Made Cleveland has re-activated the large former City Buddha space in Coventry Village, not only with its large stock of locally created items ranging from books to artwork to edibles, but also with a regular series of special events, such as open mics (every Monday with local singer/songwriter Charlie Mosbrook) and food tastings.
This week it’s also hosting a gallery show by Cleveland artist Oliver St. Clair with an opening reception Saturday evening. St. Clair, who paints and works with fiber, has created a series of hand-sewn doll, embroidered and beaded drawings, paintings on paper and costumes that she says “explore the subconscious world and how humans internalize emotions, hiding them in plain sight.” To delve into the language of dreams she draws on nature-based folk symbolism and abstract patterns and shapes.
Meet the artist and enjoy live music by Izzey Perl, along with free refreshments, at the opening. The store will be open for browsing and shopping, as it is seven days a week.
