Cleveland Pops Orchestra Annual Holiday Show Is Back at Playhouse Square

Sun 11/27 @ 2PM

The Cleveland Pops Orchestra’s Holiday Spectacular concert at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace Theatre is pretty predictable, but still a lot of fun, especially for families.

The Cleveland Pops chorus joins the orchestra for a program of holiday songs, which will also feature another Connor — guest singer Connor O’Brien, a popular local actor/musician. Expect to see conductor/clarinetist Carl Topilow wearing a flashy tie or hat and maybe even playing red and green clarinets (which we know he has; we’ve seen the photos!) And as a special treat, Playhouse Square CEO Gina Vernacci, who is retiring next year, will be reading The Night Before Christmas.

Before and after the show in the lobby, they’ll be collecting new games and toy for the City Mission to distribute to needy kids, and Santa will be available for photos. And as usual, we have to warn mom and dad: local shelters will be there will adoptable cats and dogs so make up your mind now how much wheedling it will take to get you to give in.
