Want to know what kind of visual art is out there to brighten up those dark winter days and long nights? Just in time the quarterly arts magazine CAN Journal’s winter issue is hitting the streets.
The cover features a photo by Buffalo native/Rochester resident Greg Halpern whose photos of rundown wintery landscapes and cityscapes, now at the Transformer Station, should strike a chord with Clevelanders. In addition, you’ll read about how Cleveland’s SPACES Gallery has been chosen by the U.S. Department of State to organize the U.S Pavilion at the prestigious Venice Architecture Biennale and area artist Lauren Yeager chosen to be part of it. And read about Jamaica/New York transplant to Cleveland, photographer Ruddy Roye, who has embedded himself in the Outhwaite Homes, Cleveland’s first housing project now being demolished , and become familiar with the residents whom he’s photographer for a show now on view at the Cleveland Print Room.
Come pick up a copy and hang out with artists and people from the arts scene at CAN’s Winter Issue Launch event at Loganberry Books on Larchmere Boulevard. All are welcome!
