Tues 11/1 @ 7:30PM
French organist Thomas Ospital is just 32, but he’s a meteoric start in the world of organ music. He trained with some of the best teachers in Paris, and by 2012 was winning prizes in major competitions. In 2015, he was named one of two organists at Paris’ Eglise Saint-Eustache, which has France’s largest pipe organ. Now, in addition to performing both solo concerts and with orchestras around the world, he teaches at his former conservatory. He performs both secular and liturgical music, accompanies silent films and frequently includes improvisation in his performances.
He’ll be performing at Trinity Cathedral downtown, using both of its pipe organs: its mechanical-action Flentrop Organ, installed in 1977 at the rear of the nave, and the Muller/Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ installed in the chancel in 2021.
